The JCBA will be holding it’s annual unveiling of headstones on Sunday August 15, 2021 at 11:00am at our Chesed Shel Emeth Cemetery, 498 Oakwood St in Shaler Twp (Pittsburgh PA 15209). Headstones for Kenneth Josselson and Blyuma Blatman will be unveiled, Rabbi Elie Seidman will officiate.

Immediately following, we will have a burial of sacred texts – shames. According to Jewish custom prayer books for weekday, Shabbat and the High Holidays as well as Chumashim in which the Hebrew name of God has been printed and that have become frayed, worn out or are in disrepair are to be buried. Books and other acceptable items can be picked up at any specified location by contacting the JCBA at JCBAPgh@gmail.com, 412-553- 6469 or brought to the cemetery on August 15th. The community is invited to attend.
